T-Shirts!

Since I have been a designer and a college student I have wanted to invest in the increasable design work that has been put out on shirts without paying a lot of money for them. I am sure that the most of you have heard of http://www.threadless.com/ but I want to share with you two more sites that have come to my attention as of late.

First off the way these two site run is they offer the shirt for one day and one day only, thus giving us 365 shirts to view and potentially buy a year. But shirt.woot.com also has a most popular section giving everyone more chances to purchase the most popular shirts in the section "the reckoning". Now shirt.woot.com they have a wide variety of vector based designs which some are more of an intent of beauty where some are more comical and humor based. The one today gave me a good laugh and that is probably why I am writing this right now.

The second site that I want to share is a site called teefruy.com. This site is also $10 a shirt for one day only, but they mean one day only. The only way you can get one of the shirts once it is gone is to find it somewhere else. Teefury.com is probably my favorite of the two simply because I am a nerd. I like video games and I like science fiction and this site combines all of the movies and video games and puts fun twists on them in wonderful vector based design.

Here are some links to some good ones from both sites.

  1. Thank you for sharing the other links, I am familiar with threadless but not the others! I have never submitted a design for a t-shirt competition, but am now very inspired to do so after seeing these examples.

My favorite is the Hunter S. Thompson/ Raoul Duke mario!

  5. Tshirt design is something that's pretty challenging depending on the color of the tshirt, the weight of the material, the design for the tshirt, and ultimately the budget.

  7. I love some of the graphic tees that come out of these types of places. I am developing an odd love/frustration relationship with graphic t-shirts because strangely (or not so strangely) I feel I am getting to an age that is inappropriate for me to wear them (at least according to many sources on style). Then I think, screw it, I'm an artist, and like to wear stuff that is both interesting (at least to me) and to see and is comfortable. I am glad we are at a time of chucking preconceived notions of what certain aged people should wear and such a plethora of cool designs on shirts. So, ultimately, preference wins out. I was at Renegade craft fair last Sept. and there were just way too many cool t-shirts there. I highly suggest everyone trying to get out there this year. There is so much great design stuff and the people there were very cool to talk with. I found two shirts from “Paste” that I love and the quality of the fabric is great. Someday I will try and submit some designs to threadless, and maybe other places.

  13. I was not aware of these sites and definitely spent some time on those until I realized I was suppose to be commenting on the blog. My favorite on was The Binge. And I too will probably be adding these tees to my wardrobe!

  16. Interesting, it's kind of inspiring. I like the idea that the shirts are only available for a day. It gives them more of a value.
