I took a class through CDM where we learned about logo design, and much of it was the process that Keith outlined. The main point we learned in that class was to take the image of what you want represented and then break it down into the simplest form possible to still represent what is being shown (the example was the CBS 'eye'. We see it as an eye even though it is simple, single color blocks of color.)Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13357549086168311874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6137237384486518155.post-29285110757431667922011-04-06T14:03:21.987-07:002011-04-06T14:03:21.987-07:00Logo design I think to be one of the most difficul...Logo design I think to be one of the most difficult parts of designing so I always tip my hat to someone who wants to go that route. I think it is important to be reminded of this, as some, (re:me), tend to get impatient and want to work from start to end without taking the steps between. I have to constantly remind myself to not try and draw a picture to completion on the first try, so your post is not only a great breakdown of logo creation, but a general reminder to appreciate the process.

Thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6137237384486518155.post-7666981283259092592011-04-05T18:51:18.687-07:002011-04-05T18:51:18.687-07:00It's good to know both sides of the process, b...It's good to know both sides of the process, because many designers, myself included, have trouble getting it exactly right. I find that there is no single set of rules that apply to every job, especially when doing freelance work. The posting you made however is a great reference point for anyone who is having a hard time with the client/designer relationship, but always make sure to be flexible!Shannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12964543631552691787noreply@blogger.com
